Friday, Sept. 28, 2007
U.S. Justice Dept., 950 Pennsylvania Ave., NW

Members of Rainbow Solidarity to Free the Cuban Five, the New York and DC Free the Five Committees, the No War on Cuba-DC, the National Network on Cuba, Troops Out Now Coalition (TONC), the Women’s Fightback Network, a representative of BAYAN and other progressive and anti-war solidarity activists will deliver a petition to Acting Attorney General Peter Keisler signed by more than 1,000 organizations and individuals calling for a new trial and freedom for the Cuban Five.

This petition was initiated by LGBT and other activists battling oppression based on sexuality, gender expression and sex—one of the targeted progressive movements at whom the imperialist campaign to vilify Cuba had been aimed.

Pride In Solidarity with the Cuban Five

Saturday June 2, 2007
1:00 - 3:00 pm
Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Transgender Community Center
208 West 13th Street Manhattan

These U.S.-held political prisoners were jailed merely for having infiltrated CIA-backed right-wing terrorist commando organizations to monitor and stop attacks on Cuba from U.S. soil.

The struggle to win their freedom has galvanized a broad united front among those who battle oppression based on their gender expression and/or sex and who they love. Individuals and organizations have signed on from 45 countries, from every continent and from virtually every state in the continental U.S.

Speakers included: Teresa Gutierrez, Joan Gibbs, Leslie Feinberg and others!

We are asking women leaders and activists once again for your assistance. Since September, there have been new developments. After a panel of three judges from the 11th circuit court unanimously overturned their convictions on Aug. 9, the prosecution appealed that decision, and a request for the full court to hear the case was granted, once again delaying their return home.
